Solution

Thanks to this project, the Indigenous communities of the Xingu can protect their lands and traditional way of life effectively against massive deforestation while preserving their heritage. The project aims to fund both equipment and monitoring expeditions led by Indigenous rangers. The necessary equipment includes, in particular, the purchase of drones to quickly detect illegal activities within the Indigenous reserve.

This project supports not only the conservation of one of the world’s largest carbon sinks—the Amazon rainforest, which is essential in combating global warming—but also one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.

The project is located in the Rio Xingu Great Reserve, which includes the territories of the Kayapo people and the Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX) in Brazil.
