Providing food baskets for the underprivileged

Summer is already coming to an end, and before the new school year begins, we wanted to look back on these past two months, which were full of community action. Across France, local businesses, organizations, volunteers, and HopHopFood teams have continued to work together to combat food waste and support people in need.☀️ Over the summer, the HopHopFood network made it possible to: - Save 27,500 solidarity food baskets - Help 2,777 beneficiaries - 69 metric tons of food saved - 105.60 metric tons of CO₂ emissions avoided Behind these numbers are, above all, thousands of acts of solidarity that added up throughout the summer. And among the highlights of this effort, one event left a particularly strong impression on us: the Main Square Festival.🎵 In fact, this summer, HopHopFood also got involved at the Main Square Festival in Arras. At the end of the festival, our teams collected surplus food from food trucks and the artists’ dining areas.🍔 It was a wonderful way to keep the party going in a different way: rather than being thrown away, this surplus food was redistributed to benefit people in need.🙏 In total: 🥘 +5,000 meal equivalents saved 🥕 +1 metric ton of food recovered 🌍 +1.5 metric tons of CO₂ avoided A huge thank you to all our donors: it is thanks to your support and generosity that these initiatives are possible and that we can continue to foster solidarity throughout France.💚

The month of July once again demonstrated the strength of our network’s mobilization. ✨ During the month of July, we supported 2,000 people, collected more than 10,000 solidarity food baskets, saved 34 metric tons of food, and prevented more than 51 metric tons of CO₂ emissions. These results illustrate the tangible impact of every act of solidarity. 🌍 In Toulouse, our network has grown stronger with the addition of four new partner organizations: La Cloche, La Maison des Femmes, Café & Co, and Habitat et Humanisme. Their commitment will help provide even more people with access to quality food. 🤝 In Rennes, the local chapter continues to grow with great momentum. This month, a hotel and three supermarkets joined the HopHopFood network, thereby expanding opportunities for the redistribution of unsold food. This momentum is also spreading throughout Brittany with the opening of the first partner store in Lorient—an important milestone for the organization’s growth in the region. 🙌 This month, we also had the pleasure of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Biocoop cooperative in the Rhône and southern Ain regions, a committed partner that shares our values of solidarity, the fight against food waste, and responsible consumption. 🎉 All of these achievements are made possible thanks to your support.
