The project

Biodiversity
To increase cheetah populations in the wild through strategic rewilding and community engagement while raising awareness of their importance in maintaining ecosystem balance.
6 500
cheetahs still live in the wild worldwide, making them Africa's most endangered big cats.

Solution

Mantis Impact releases captive cheetahs of pure lineage into the wild as part of a special program called "rewilding". Once adapted in their new environment, the cheetahs are transferred to areas where they can meet other cheetahs and mate, thus strengthening the population and genetic diversity.

In addition, Mantis Impact is also committed to social issues. For every cheetah released, a member of the local community is trained and supported to acquire new skills, thus becoming an ambassador for wildlife conservation within their own community. In collaboration with conservation areas, the organization works to preserve cheetahs and their habitats, thus contributing to the protection of biodiversity as a whole.

The project focuses on Southern Africa(South Africa, Namibia, Botswana) and in collaboration with international conservation organizations to extend their impact on a global scale.

Donations help us:
  • Rewild cheetahs from captive or at-risk conditions,
  • Support medical care and monitoring of cheetahs during rewilding phases,
  • Protect and restore habitats essential for cheetah survival,
  • Train local rangers and researchers in wildlife conservation techniques,
  • Fund outreach programs educating communities about cheetah conservation,
  • Collaborate with scientific bodies to improve rewilding success rates.
